Traditional Northumbrian Ginger Compound, makes a delicious non-alcoholic drink.
Ginger wine is a popular drink served traditionally in households in Scotland and the north east of England at Christmas and Hogmanay. It is a perfect winter drink ideal for those wanting something festive without alcohol but tastes equally well with a drop of whiskey. Ginger is also very beneficial for digestion and can help with nausea.
To make your ginger drink, add 907g (2lb) of sugar or sweetener of your choice to 2.8 litres (5 pints) of water and boil to dissolve. Allow to cool, then add all of the Ginger Compound and stir.
Water, Citric Acid, Caramel, Polyoxyethylene (20) Sorbitan, Monolaurate/Polysorbate 20, Ginger Essential Oil - Zingiber Officionale, Capsicum Oleoresin 6%.
